How this site is organized

Why the writing and the projects are split into four subjects.

The writing and the projects on this site are split into four subjects: science, technology, art and philosophy. It isn't a statement about me, it's just the shape the archive took after seven years.

The figure on the home page is a K₄, the complete graph on four vertices: four nodes, six edges, each node connected to all the others. It's there because four separate columns would be a lie - what I learn in one subject almost always changes what I do in the others.

The graph isn't an illustration. Each node holds a number, each edge conducts. Feeding one node makes the other three rise afterwards, after the transit time. Cutting a link makes both sides fall - not because someone programmed a sadness animation, but because the node now receives from two neighbors instead of three, and the math doesn't add up.

Each node's number rises with reading, not with clicking: content from that subject visible for twenty continuous seconds, with the tab in the foreground. A scoreboard that rises with clicks measures clicks. That number stays in your browser and never leaves it.

This page was never locked: it has always been on the site, answering anyone who typed the address. The only thing that changes when all four fill up is the path - the signature in the footer starts pointing here.

WebGL is off

This site needs your graphics card

The space in this site - the Swordfish, the flight between galaxies, the sky you build - is drawn by the graphics card, through WebGL. It is off in this browser, and without it those parts don't show up. The writing is still readable.

How to turn it on

Addresses like chrome://settings don't open from a link: copy and paste them into the address bar.
